Rockdale Rising Stars is Rockdale Musical Society’s dynamic youth musical theatre program, offering professional training in singing, acting, and movement in a fun, supportive environment.
In 2026, the program is led by NIDA Musical Theatre graduates Ryan Glasson and Jasmine Salinas, with a new 90-minute class format combining skill development and rehearsals toward mid-year and end-of-year performances.
Perfect for beginners and experienced performers alike, Rockdale Rising Stars builds confidence, creativity, and a love of live performance. Enrolments are currently full for term 3 and no new places are being offered at the moment 🌟

DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon JR.
Coming June 2027 to Rockdale Musical Society
Rockdale Musical Society is thrilled to announce that our June 2027 production will be DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon JR.
Based on the beloved DreamWorks Animation motion picture, this exciting stage musical brings the world of Berk to life in an unforgettable adventure filled with courage, friendship, humour and heart. Join Hiccup, an inventive young Viking who doesn't quite fit in, as he forms an unlikely friendship with the feared dragon, Toothless. Together they challenge generations of tradition and prove that understanding is far more powerful than fear.
Featuring an inspiring original score by Veronica Mansour with Book & Lyrics by Kate Thomas, How to Train Your Dragon JR. is a spectacular family musical that celebrates bravery, acceptance and the courage to be yourself. Audiences of all ages will be swept away by this magical story as dragons soar, friendships grow and heroes discover what it truly means to lead.
Whether you're a lifelong fan of the films or discovering the story for the first time, this promises to be one of our most exciting productions yet.
Auditions
Are you ready to become a Viking?
Audition information, including the production team, rehearsal schedule, audition requirements and key dates, will be released later this year.
Auditions will take place in February 2027, with rehearsals commencing shortly afterwards in preparation for our June 2027 season.
